Broke a Personal Record on Amazon Sales April 2012

On April 18, 2012 I was shocked and delighted to find 93 Amazon sales on my dashboard! I can't explain how excited I was because there aren't any words. To think that someone can go to sleep and wake up to sales like this is crazy. To know that there are affiliate marketers that make sales like this in hours motivates me to continue building more HubPages, Squidoo lenses (site no longer exists) and links. I'm going to share a few things that I have learned along the way because I like helping others succeed.

What Amazon products are the most profitable?

The products that will sell the best are the ones you can really share well. Don't know what I mean? You know when you're talking to a friend and they complain about their shoes because their feet hurt. You tell them about the gel inserts you bought that make your feet feel like you're walking on a cloud. They go buy the inserts, come back and thank you. Why? Those inserts really helped their feet. Those products that have really helped you, your friends and family can be very profitable for you. Share your honest reviews, tell your story and provide a link. People will buy from you if they believe you.

Should I concentrate on high priced or low priced Amazon affiliate products?

In the beginning, I only created sites on high priced tickets items. There were two problems with that plan.

  1. high competition for the keywords
  2. less sales meant my commission tier was 4%

I couldn't understand why people would bother making hubs or lenses on products that cost $1.00! Why would I invest so much time for little profit.

Here's what I learned. There are more sales with lower priced items, which brings your commission tier up! Let me explain it like this. You make a hub about sillybandz. They cost 99 cents. Someone goes on your site and buys 10. Your tier just went up to the next level. So, when you sell that $399.99 toy, your commission will be 6% instead of 4%. Cool, huh? Don't be afraid to make hubs or lenses on low priced hot items!

How can I make more Amazon sales from each customer?

The simple answer to this is add ons. You know when you go to Toys R Us and during the checkout they offer you a warranty for your product? Remember how they ask if you need batteries? Those are add ons. When you create hubs, offer other things that go along with the product you are reviewing. For example, you write about a game console. Also write about the wireless controller, rechargeable battery pack and the carrying case. Chances are the customer will think, "I better get the batteries now." or "I can really use the wireless controllers too."

Always remember, targeted traffic comes from search engines. People that are shopping for specific products will come from Google, Yahoo or Bing. Be sure to build a lot of links from a variety of sources to help you rank better on most search engine results. For more help on link building, read my other hubs. I haven't held back any secrets. I'm not selling anything. Just read the hubs, take action, rinse and repeat.

Good luck and be sure to come back and share your results! I hope you found this information useful. Please, take the time to rate this hub and share it with your friends and family by email or your favorite social media site. Thanks in advance!
