Read This if You Get Lots of Visitors and No Adsense Clicks!

Are you frustrated because your HubPages are getting tons of visitors, but you aren't getting any Adsense clicks? I've read many HubPages by different authors regarding this issue. There are several reasons why this is happening. I'm going to try to explain it in the simplest terms possible for all the new hubbers out there. Once you understand why your adsense earnings aren't increasing, then you can choose the appropriate solution to fix it.

Help! I get tons of traffic on HubPages, but I'm still not getting Adsense clicks!

All traffic is not the same. You can get thousands of hits rapidly from being on the first page of Digg or StumbleUpon and not get one click! Why? These people are just "kicking the tires". These visitors are just following the crowd to see what everyone else is looking at. This kind of traffic may get you some ratings or subscribers-if they really like your content. However, they aren't "targeted traffic". You probably won't get many clicks. Targeted traffic brings the type of visitors that increase your Adsense earnings. Why? Visitors that come from targeted traffic are looking for the information you have. If your content has ads displayed that have even more information than you supply, they will click your ad.

Let's look at this in a different way. Let's say your HubPage was a clothing store. If you get tons of window shoppers at the lunch rush, you're probably not going to make many sales. However, later on you get a couple of photographers that want to use your clothing line for a photo shoot. Guess what? They came to your store with the intention of looking around to make a purchase.

The following sites can deliver thousands of visitors in minutes:

• StumbleUpon
• Digg
• Twitter

However, it's not the type of traffic that converts. It does have it's benefits. What are they? You may gain more subscribers, gain more backlinks and generate some buzz on the net.

To get more adsense clicks, you need organic search traffic.

I know what you're thinking. Well, how do I get organic search traffic? You need lots and lots of backlinks. Link building improves a site's search engine rankings. Better search engine rankings improves the amount of targeted traffic you get. This is why so many people want to be on the first page of Google.

Let's look at an example. Someone is looking for more information on the best golf clubs. They Google the term. They are going to click on the first page and skim through the content. If they find it interesting, they may stop to read it. If the writer leaves the person still hungry for just a little more info, they may click on one of the ads on the page. That's what you want!

Most of my visitors are fellow Hubbers and I get thousands of views. Why am I not making any money?

I hate to tell you this, but someone has to. As a Hubber, you trained yourself not to click on your own ads, right? Chances are you have become blind to Adsense ads. What does that mean? If most of your readers are fellow Hubbers, they also suffer from Adsense ad blindness. This is common among bloggers too. This is why bloggers with huge followings make more money selling ads on their blog, then running Adsense ads. Don't believe me? Visit John Chow or Shoemoney and take a look.  They both realized they could make more money by selling ad space then running adsense.  You won't find Google Adsense on either site.  Back to your Hubber followers.  Encourage them to bookmark your hubs.  If we all bookmarked each other's hubs, HubPages would dominate every search term! 

What's up with these Google ads!  My Adsense clicks are only worth a few cents.

If you're writing with the intention of making money from Adsense, then you need to write about profitable topics.  There are keywords that are worth more than others.  You can Google high paying Google keywords and you will find all types of lists.  Write about the topics that are worth $1.00 or more.  If you increase organic search traffic and target these high paying keywords, you will earn more.

My Google ads don't match my content of my HubPage!

You need to write about one topic per HubPage.  Choose a catchy title, but be sure to use the keyword in it.  You should also repeat the keyword in the first paragraph as well as the last paragraph.  Finally, use synonyms throughout the body of the hub.  By doing this, you are explaining your content to the Google bots.  They in turn will understand what you're writing about and the ads dipsplayed will reflect that.
